Sun line in palmistry: what it is and what it says about you
The sun line, also called the Apollo line, indicates potential for recognition, creativity and success in the public sphere. Find out how to read it.
What is the sun line or Apollo line
The sun line (or Apollo line) is one of the secondary lines on the palm, located on the outer zone of the palm, running toward the ring finger. Unlike the four main lines (life, heart, head, destiny), not everyone has it. When present, it is associated with recognizable talent, artistic or creative inclination, and capacity for success in the public sphere.
Where is the sun line on the palm
To locate it, look at the lower outer area of the palm (below the little finger) and trace upward toward the ring finger. It can originate from the life line, the mount of Luna, the center of the palm, or even close to the fingers. The length and origin point reveal different things about when and how that potential manifests.
What a clear, deep sun line means
A long, well-defined line indicates a talent that can materialize into social recognition: artistic, intellectual or leadership-based. It does not predict fame but capability. People with a marked sun line usually have a skill that others easily identify in them and that distinguishes them in their environment.
What it means to not have a sun line
Most people do not have this line or have a very faint one. It does not indicate lack of talent or success — it simply signals that the recognition potential is not anchored in a single defining ability. Many highly successful people have no clear sun line. In palmistry, the absence of a secondary line is not a negative diagnosis.

A short line starting high (near the fingers) indicates late recognition. Interruptions signal highs and lows in the creative or public trajectory. A fork at the end indicates two distinct paths of talent expression — not a contradiction but a productive duality.
Sun line vs destiny line: they are not the same
The destiny line (Saturn) runs up the center toward the middle finger and speaks of purpose and career. The sun line runs along the outer side toward the ring finger and speaks of talent and recognition. A person can have both, only one, or neither. Having a destiny line without a sun line indicates a purposeful career without marked public visibility.
