Key rule: a master number is only kept when it appears as the direct result of the primary sum. If during a reduction you get 11, 22, or 33 as an intermediate step in a longer calculation, it is not a master number: keep reducing. Example without master: birth date 29/11/1985 → 2+9+1+1+1+9+8+5 = 36 → 3+6 = 9. No master number. Example with master: a partial component of the date (the day alone, for instance) sums directly to 11 as the final result for that component.
