How to See Your Own Aura: Real Exercises Without False Promises

Is it possible to see the aura without special abilities?

The direct question deserves a direct answer: some people perceive a kind of halo or glow around bodies, especially against neutral backgrounds and in dim light. Neurophysiology partly explains this as sensitivity to visual contrast and peripheral electromagnetic fields. Not everyone perceives it the same way, and there is no scientific consensus on whether what is seen is the energetic aura described by esoteric tradition or a perceptual effect. That said, the two exercises below work for many people and require no special gift.

Exercise 1: the hand against a white background

Place your hand 30-40 cm from a white wall or paper, in diffuse natural light (not direct). Relax your eyes and look at the space between your fingers, not the fingers themselves. Keep your gaze unfocused for 30-60 seconds. Many people perceive a thin translucent layer, sometimes with a bluish or golden tone, around the silhouette. That may be the edge of the energy field or a visual adaptation effect. Repeat with someone else's hand to see if you notice differences.

Exercise 2: the mirror with a neutral background

Stand 1-1.5 metres from a large mirror in low light, with a plain light-coloured wall behind you. Look at your own forehead (between the eyebrows), not your eyes. Hold that soft gaze for 2-3 minutes without blinking too much. Some people begin to see a luminous outline around their head and shoulders. The more you practise under consistent lighting conditions, the easier it becomes to perceive this edge.

Want to know your dominant aura colour?

If the exercises do not give you a clear result, an aura reading by photo analyses your energy field in depth: dominant colour, affected areas and personalised recommendations. You only need to upload a selfie.

What you actually see: energy or optical effect

Honesty matters here. What you perceive with these exercises may be the energetic aura field, a retinal adaptation effect (afterimage), or sensitivity to radiated body heat. No test reliably distinguishes between these from direct perception. What does have value is what you observe over time: if you perceive different colours in people with different emotional states, or if the glow you see changes when someone is tired versus rested, that is useful information regardless of its mechanism.

What colours you might see and what they mean

If you manage to perceive a tone, the most common in these exercises are: blue or indigo (associated with intuition, communication, calm), golden or yellow (active intellectual energy, vitality), green (balance, healing, empathy) and white (high frequency, mental clarity). An aura that appears greyish or blurry may indicate energetic depletion. These meanings belong to the aura reading tradition and can be complemented by a professional reading for greater depth.

When it makes sense to request a professional aura reading instead

These exercises are a good starting point but have limits: they do not detect colour nuances with precision, do not analyse specific body areas and do not offer recommendations. An aura reading by photo gives you the dominant colour of your energy field, identifies areas where energy is contracted or scattered, and offers concrete guidance. It makes sense to request one when you want useful information beyond exploratory exercise, or when you are going through an important change and want to understand your current energetic state.
